President Obama made the following comments yesterday at the Iowa State campus (emphasis mine):
“And, frankly, some folks, they make it their political strategy to try to make you feel discouraged. They’ll tell you over and over again how bad everything is, and then, of course, they’ll add that it’s all Obama’s fault. (Laughter.) And they’ll tell you that if you believed in change four years ago, your faith was foolish and you were being naïve. Last week, my opponent’s campaign went so far as to write you off as a “lost generation” — that’s you according to them.”
“But you can’t believe it. I don’t believe it. We knew that solving our biggest problems were going to take more than one year, or one term, or even one President. But we went ahead and we got started. (Applause.) We know we’ve still got a lot of work to do to get to where we need to be. But we are going to get there. (Applause.)”
So according to Obama – The Unemployment rate is at 8.3%, our national Debt is greater than our GDP and the economy is limping along when it should be roaring back but all that is because Republicans have brainwashed people into thinking things are bad. That is not only desperate but insulting to Americans who are struggling every day to fight against the headwinds that Leftist policies are generating and I have faith in the American people to see through this diversionary tactic in November.
From his comments above, it also appears that Obama had known all along that it was going to take more than one term to bring our country back. Well that is a lie and I offer you two pieces of evidence that come directly from Obama.
Stimulus to the Rescue
Remember the Stimulus in 2009 that was supposedly needed to keep the Unemployment rate below 8%? I do and according to Obama’s plan, Unemployment rate should be below 6% right now. I guess he hopes American forget that big miss.
Here is the graph from Obama’s economic team’s report/recommendations:
Obama’s Timetable for Recovery
I remember Obama saying in 2009 that if he didn’t fix the economy after 3 years then he’d be a one term President.
“Look, I’m at the start of my administration. One nice thing about the situation I find myself in is that I will be held accountable. You know, I’ve got four years. A year from now I think people are going to see that we’re starting to make some progress. But there’s still going to be some pain out there. If I don’t have this done in three years, then there’s going to be a one-term proposition.”
Sorry Mr. President, the internet has a huge memory and we don’t need the Leftist media in order to gather ample evidence to refute your lies. You don’t get to shift the goal posts during this election and we’ll use your own measuring sticks against you and make sure we hold you to your word that you deserve to be a one term President in the vein of Jimmy Carter.
