Trump Makes The Left Crazy

According to my Facebook feed, I apparently graduated high school with several Left Wing radicals.

I knew there were many of my high school friends who were left leaning because during the past 8 years they had glowing posts about Pelosi, Reid and Obama as well as negative posts about Republicans but I was cool with that. Hell, I and many of my Conservative FB friends posted our displeasure with Obama and we had respectful arguments on FB with our friends on the other side of the aisle. Free speech and all that, reasoned debate is what we need in this country right now.

But after 08-NOV-16 things took a turn for the surreal and dark. For many of my leftists high school chums there is such thing as reasoned debate anymore (as you’ll see below).

Trust me when I say, the screen caps below are but a small sampling of what I see everyday. And since these are Facebook posts, they weren’t intended to be public so I’ve blacked out their name, location and picture.

Exhibit A – All Trump voters are cool with racism

Exhibit B – You racist white people in AmeriKKKa should not comment on my posts

Exhibit C – Trump is the Anti-Christ

Exhibit D – For the past 4 years, it’s not Obama’s fault that cops are killing African Americans but for the next 4 years it’s Trump’s fault when cops kill African Americans (I’m the one who gave the 1st comment on this post)

You may find this odd but even through all this, I’m not muting or de-friending them because this is comedy gold and every now and then it’s fun to poke at them.

“My mind is made up. Don’t confuse me with facts…”

You have to give the Left credit. They have molded a complete culture of identity politics, racial division, entitlement, and victim status over the last 50+ years. While laughable at some level, the absolute absence of reason, logic, and fact in their diatribes is really tragic. It must be very troubling to see the complete collapse of the belief system they’ve adopted. Socialism/Stateism have failed every time. That they have been useful pawns/idiots can’t be easy to come to grips with.

For some reason, friends of my friends have completely lost their minds. I could show you comments that are every bit the equal of yours.

Trump is appointing four of the hardest core retired generals to his administration, two of them 4 star marines, with a promise of rebuilding the military, yet somehow Trump is Putin’s new mail order bride.

It’s the nature of the election. Hillary won 490 counties and 88 of the top 100 most populous counties. She won NYC, Washington DC, Boston, SF, and LA by 9 to 1 margins.

If you work in Media as I did, you literally don’t know anyone that would admit they were voting for Trump. His winning was inconcievable.

The FB comments I find really amusing are on the DAPL pipeline and how the oil company is desecrating sacred burial grounds, destroying the Indian’s water source and all without ever conducting any environmental studies or notifying the Indians of their plans.

It doesn’t matter everything in the above paragraph is false. Emotion and subjective thought overwhelm the ability to engage in objective reasoning.

A really good article in the WSJ on this:

    https://www.google.com/amp/www.wsj.com/amp/articles/the-perils-of-empathy-1480689513

It’s behind a pay wall but if you Google the title it goes around it.

Good article Blaine and thanks for that. I do have a WSJ subscription but I had missed that when it came out. Expect more beating of chests after the EC casts their votes for Trump and makes this official.

Can you imagine the media if things were reversed and Trump supporters were urging Dem EC voters to change their votes from Clinton to Trump? But now you hear nothing but crickets from the MSM as the Left is doing precisely this.

I left FB a few years ago.
But if I was on it, I don’t think I could deal with these crazy posts. I get too emotional sometimes. (You, know, a woman. Old but still a woman.)
I’ll bet your engineer non-emotional thinking does make them nuts.
