As if the Anthropogenic Global Warming cult could not go further off the rails, this latest AP headline proves that Team AGW is growing increasingly upset that Mother Nature is not validating their theories.

It was as recently as April of this year that AGW scientists said that MELTING ice in Antarctica was proof of man caused global warming.

“Antarctica’s massive ice shelves are shrinking because they are being eaten away from below by warm water, a new study finds. That suggests that future sea levels could rise faster than many scientists have been predicting.”

“The western chunk of Antarctica is losing 23 feet of its floating ice sheet each year. Until now, scientists weren’t exactly sure how it was happening and whether or how man-made global warming might be a factor. The answer, according to a study published Wednesday in the journal Nature, is that climate change plays an indirect role — but one that has larger repercussions than if Antarctic ice were merely melting from warmer air.”

I covered this story here and showed how a recent study revealed similar warming periods over the past 2,000 years that caused Antarctica to see periods of ice melt.  But now that the Antarctic Ice is growing, we now have Team AGW saying this seemingly counter intuitive data fits perfectly in their AGW models.

A few quotes from the AP story (with my comments interlaced):

“Shifts in wind patterns and the giant ozone hole over the Antarctic this time of year — both related to human activity — are probably behind the increase in ice, experts say. This subtle growth in winter sea ice since scientists began measuring it in 1979 was initially surprising, they say, but makes sense the more it is studied.”

So now humans have the power to shift wind patterns and this is the cause of Antarctic Ice growth?  Why did they not predict this just 6 months ago?

“Loss of sea ice in the Arctic can affect people in the Northern Hemisphere, causing such things as a higher risk of extreme weather in the U.S. through changes to the jet stream, scientists say.”

So there is a higher risk of extreme weather in the US from recent sea ice melt?  Not true.

Team AGW is desperate and upset that global temperatures have not cooperated over the past decade with their lies and now they are attributing any weather event to AGW.  Their days are numbered and it is sad to watch them in their death throes as they continue to demean the once noble scientific profession.
